BabyThis week brought the conclusion of “Picturing Maricopa”, a project that I photographed during the month of August.

I worked with the non-profit foundation “MOM Mobile” that provides prenatal and pregnancy care to women in phoenix and its surrounding cities.  The women who run this high tech clinic on wheels are amazing, entirely dedicated, and have been working together for the past 13 years.  Seeing the number of women come through in a day, I realized how critical it is that this medical care exists, and that we need to remember the human element.

This grant was made possible by the Virginia G. Piper Foundation, and there will be a public showing announced  at a later date.

Picturing Maricopa

Working on a grant from the Virginia G. Piper Foundation, photographing the non profit Maternity Outreach Mobile (aka The MOM Mobile).  They are an amazing group of  ladies that have been providing prenatal care to un insured and under insured women for the past 13 years.  Their dedication and commitment to cause was inspirational, considering the vast need for care that exists.

Thank you to everyone that participated, and for letting me sit up front in the big rig.  The truck is a monster, which by the way, the ladies drive (with their commercial license) and maintain as well!
